GO THAT GIRL. A well worded e.mail. Straight to the point. If we all send similar e.mails then they MUST do something. I've sent mine already, asking for them to take note of the problems that have arisen, and ask if they could change the major headache ( e.mails) back to its origional state for starters. Elaine :-)

I have e mailed the team for the first time since my membership started on genes - Sept 2003 - Although have been a friends member since they started really back in 2001 . This is the content of my mail : opps!! It would seem that some of your valued members are leaving the site : ( I think the biggest bug to bear is the e mail system - wondered if you'd take a look at a few threads on the message boards and judge the situation for yourselves. May I also suggest that the next time you think of changes for a better web friendly site that maybe a questionnaire would be a good idea and gauge what your clients would like to see - obviously you can't please everyone However it would at least of been a gesture of respect and good will. It's these people that make your site a success, without them it's pretty much another ancestry site with no soul. I'd like to add that I have been a member of friends re united from 2001 in your early days . The 2 sites are totally different - friends is a name bank - genes has a heart. Much happiness Debi

Hi Shan, I did point this out on another thread but think it worth mentioning again. I know some members have had trouble with people using information from other trees or adding it to their own trees when there is not a clear link or without asking permission. Well now when you contact someone on the name search listings permission is automatically given to let them view your tree unless you untick the box at the bottom. I am sure many people will miss this. It would be better to have the box blank and then the choice is yours whether you tick it or not. Rose

Hi all, There has been posative and negative response on all threads throughout the board's Think GR needs to respond in someway, to either let us know wether it is staying the same or will acknowledge they will even consider our plea's to change just a few thing's back the way they were or even improve on the changes, will await a response for the time being Shan

I have put my comments on some of the other boards so I can be included in the threads as not being happy with the changes. I am asking GR to PLEASE take note of their members grievances, and PLEASE return these changes to the way they were. PLEASE dont lose members because you are not noticing the amount of people who are upset with the same changes. This site relies on its members. Pat x

hi shan, can someone please explain , why when i go into my contacts- it looks like everyone has access to my tree ? i thought only those i let in , could. if you know what i mean. and i can hardly read my messages when they come through. i have a 17" monitor, and good vision, so god help others !!! and have you read irenes thread, she has had enough and is leaving ! maybe since the overhaul and name change, they have got so many new members from re united , they arent bothered wether the present members stay. they dont seem bothered if we complain or leave. gosh , dont i sound like a whinger- sorry- but i love this site and the way it is going , it will not be the same.....................sue.

Another thing i have noticed today, there has been a big absence from a few people that are always around, maybe coincidence i dont know but i do know of 3 people who are always here and have not seen them much at all Shan

By all account our feedback is meant to matter, so if we list all our grievences maybe just maybe someone will listen and put our site (as you say Val, sorry Kal) back the way we the members would like it. Shan
