GOOD NEWS re BRICK WALL !!!!

IT'S DOWN !!!!!! I am SO excited. Today I recieved the Lancashire Parish Records on disc ..... and found the BURIAL record of my James Shawcross, who I knew had died in April 1829 because his letter of administration dated May '29 told me that ! But all I knew was that he was 40ish. Finding his parents etc was impossible because I did not KNOW what year he was born in. His burial record tells me !!!!!! he was 42 years old, lived on Aldred St, Salford and was buried at St Mary's Church, Manchester ....which in turn confirms to me that he actually married Sarah JOHNSON in 1808 St Marys Church, Manchester. This information was initially found due to all you kind folks on this Records Office board, giving me the help and advice I needed back in March this year when I joined. I REALLY can't THANK everyone enough. There are so many people that have done so much, that I couldn't start to name you all. The most recent person on the list BUT by no means the least is Debs, who this last couple of weeks has been searching the church grave yards in the Salford district and looking for my SHAWCROSS whilst she's been there. Debs, give up, I know where he is !!!!! I'm SO excited ...I'm high on smiles, I just can not take this smile off my ugly face !!!! THANK YOU ALL for your kindness, patience, understanding, help, advice, leg work, library visits, photo copies ... the list is endless ! Oh my goodness ... I have a bottle of champagne that I promised I would open if the brick wall ever came down ! ... I can't open it on my own ...I think its time for a visit to Manchester !! Elaine :-)))))) Thats it, I just had to tell the world !

Yes, Thank You Denise Lynch in Manchester, for going to the Library looking for the James Shawcross - Sarah ? marriage for me ... I'm now convinced 100% that it was Sarah Johnson that he married ! Right, there are only 38 Sarah Johnson's that he may have married, born within 5 years of him in the Lancashire area... anyone want to hazard a guess as to which one she actual was ? or shall I just give it a miss ??? !!! he he .. decision made ... lets give it a miss !!! Thanks Denise ... I hope to meet you in Manchester to thank you personally. All the best, Elaine X

SUE ...! I could kiss you ! Curiousity got the better of me, so I went in search, to find: Ninin Smith Johnson, b 1788, sister to Sarah b 1786 who are the daughters of Charles and Elizabeth Johnson. They had several other children ! When you see the marriage record you will see how smith looks like judith ! but when you know what it says its so obvious ! It JUST so happens that the man who ran Strangeways Hall estate in 1806 was called Charles Johnson ...so this is the connections to Strangeways ( not just me !!!) I could kiss you to death ! Cheers me dears ! Elaine :-)
