I never worry about spellings on censuses. I found the Clarks easily on 1871. Send me your e-mail address for the image. If Chapman was as old as he said he was, I maight find him with his parents on 1841.

Thanks Geoff, Should have said that the name Clark is sometimes spelt Clarke. They should be about somewhere, hopefully on 1871 if not 1861 as they seemed to have stayed in Pinchbeck all their lives. By the 1891 census Rachel was widowed and lived as a housekeeper with John Hammond and was still with him in 1901, still in Pinchbeck. Kath. x

Kathleen Sorry, I could find no suitable Clarks in Pinchbeck 1861 and no Withers/Weathers, just a pair of Weatheralls (and, speaking of weather, Joseph Rainbow). I will take a look at 1871 soon.

Hello Geoff, I noticed from another thread that you have the 1861 census for Lincs. I was wondering if you could look up a Chapman and Rachel Clark of Pinchbeck. I think they were married by then but if not Rachel's maiden name was Weathers (Whethers/Wethers). Hope you don't mind me asking. Just wondered who was in the family at that time. Thanks Kath. x
