A slight problem for you. The above family in 1901 are now in Tower Street. Maria is a widow and Rose is at home with occupation as Laundress. If this is the right family Rose is entered on the 1901 census twice which often happened and may well have been in both places on that night depending how fast the enemerators were. Or, Mum could have just entered her,anyway. Did it say if Thomas was deceased on marriage cert although sometimes they missed that off!!! Hi I have just been thinking and on my grandmother's marriage certificate her father's name is incorrect. I only found this out when eventually traced his birth death certificate etc - it was an usual name. Also, both of my grandparents went to London to work, married there then came back here, so maybe Rose was not born in London. Trish

I found this on 1891 census. I don't think it is the Rose Morgan you are thinking of because the father's name Richard. But his middle name is J. This could make a difference. You can't assume it was her mother. To be absolutely sure send for her birth certificate - I'll have another look on 1891. Tricia

All the information i have is from a wedding certificate on 6th Novmber 1905 she marrried Alfred Wimpress aged 23 a carman she was aged 19 with no rank or profession listed he resided at 1 Mulbeck place Hackney his father George Wimpress a boot finisher she was residing at London hospital Whitechapel Road fathers name Thomas J Morgan a commercial traveller the witness was a Lille Morgan not sure if this is her mother or sister

Are you sure those two people are her parents. Can't trace her on 1891. .

& just to confirm I checked the CD she is not at London Hosp. in 1901 . Who is the 14yr Rose Morgan working as a nurse maid in Hackney listed in the 1901 on line, is that the one Susan found with occupation mistranscribed ? dave

Oh brilliant, Tricia it looks like that could be her that must be why she put it down as her address funny that she left her profession balnk though Vera i dont know her parents dobs i am trying to find out more info so i can get her birth cert with the name Morgan i thought she may have been born Wales but i think the name that tricia found must be correct as shorditch would tie in with where my nans family came from.

Do you know birthplace of Rose? The only lady who fits on 1901 is 15 year old Rose Morgan born Shoreditch working as a laundress in a hospital in Hackney. If this is her it will explain why she is still working in a hospital in 1905. Tricia

Trying to find a Rose Morgan aged 19 in 1905 place of residence in 1905 London Hospital Whitechapel profession blank . I am therefore trying to find out why she was at the hospital as she would appear not to have a profession. Was wondering if she was residing at the Hospital when the 1901 census was carried out. Mothers name Lillie Morgan Fathers name Thomas J Morgan a commercial traveller. Thanks for your help any information gratefully received.
