Can someone help me fill in the gaps of the data I have for a John Rutherford born abt (1834) and living at 2 Hartland Road London St Pancreas with wife Mary. 1901 Census age 66 (Tailor) born Whitby Yorks 1891 Census age 56 (Tailor) born Whitby Yorks 1881 Census age 45 (Tailor) born Whitby Yorks 1871- 1861- 1851- 1841- I'm trying to find his birth cert but he doesn't seem to exist so hopefully will try the census to see if it shows anything. thanks John |

a little hint - his birth cerrtifacte won't exist (he was born befor 1837 when teh certificate were brought into prartice) |

To trace him on 1851/1861 you need to find someone offering this information and you will need address which seems to be pretty constant. If you don't get reply on this thread post another one asking for 1851/1861 London(St Pancras)census |

John, Have answered your message but if you would like original image please give me your direct Email by message. Unless you search parish records you are only going to trace his father's name on his marriage cert so you have to feel quiteconfident that the one given is the correct one. It may be worthwhile asking if anyone has a few spare credits on 1837 just to check there isn't another John marrying a Mary in that 2 year time period. Although to be positive it does fit in with the birth of first child. The decision is yours!!!! |
