I am having trouble accessing 1837 at the moment [This, of course is because I have lots of christmas money to spend ordering certs! grrrr!] Most can wait but I would really appreciate a lookup for Leonard [possibly just Lennie] COWDREY born 1940/41, possibly slightly later. Many thanks

Thanks again, Ann and Andrea. I wonder where he is? I spoke to his Dad last week and he thought he was born in 1940, though he hasn't seen him since he was a baby so maybe he muddled the dates. It was certaintly before 1945. Very odd!

Have looked at Sept. 1942 to Dec. 1943 and he isn't there. Nothing in 1939 either. Kath. x

Have looked in 1938 too. he's not there , sorry. Have you considered that Leonard might be his middle name? Seemed to be quite a few with middle initial L. Good luck Sarah

Hi Diane, I have looked through 1938-1940, also 1944-1945, and no sign of him. Mea.

Hi, Sarah, I'm just starting to wonder that myself! I don't think he would have been born earlier than 1938, as that would make his Dad too young. I just wish I could get n there and see for myself. I don't suppose any one noticed if any of the Cowdrey's were born in Willesden or Brentford district, as I have just had a phone call saying these are the most likeliest places.

Thanks, Mea. I think perhaps Sarah's right and it's his middle name, though you would have thought his Dad would have recollected that much. Many thanks to all of you for your help, it is much appreciated.

Sounds familiar, I too used to try to do everything with a baby in my arms. Luckily she now sleeps well in her cot. Miss the cuddles though. Good luck with your search. Sarah

do you know where he was born?

Hi, Liz, Thanks for replying. It would have been around Middlesex, with Willesden being the most likely district and Brentford a close second.
