hi, i am trying to find the death of william hepplestone. he was b c1844. he married in 1863. his wife is down as married on the 1871 census- but cannot find him. her youngest child was 2 in 1871. so he 'could' have died between 1868 and 1871. think her marital status was mistranscribed. she re married in 1873- so am curious wether he was dead or not. have tried familyrelatives- no sign of him. he was living in birstall/ batley area in 1863. many thanks in advance, sue. |

hi rosemary ! mmmmmmm a bit worrying this ! it was william hepplestone's wife who went on to marry the 'infamous' william randall walker'. i keep joking that he was in prison in 1871 for bigamy, maybe it was something worse.lol, sue. |

doh- not sure ! lol. i have checked ancestry 1871 , no sign of him. i have looked through the 71 census- where i think he 'should' be- again, no sign of him ! would not mind if it was a common name , like , say, william walker ! lol, thanks rosemary, sue. x |

I could only find these... he either lied about his age... William hepplestone (Unknown) 19 Batley, Yorkshire, England Son Batley Yorkshire or he was with another woman... William hepplestone (Unknown) 25 Sheffield, Yorkshire, England Head Sheffield Yorkshire I looked through the Hep*'s to see if I could spot one that looked like him, but no. I had a look through the deaths for the whole country, and nothing. I also looked at marriages, and the closest was in 1878. |

hi tracy- just looked on ancestry. oddly enough on the same page as the 19 year old- a couple of houses down- lives william hepplestone [the one i am looking for] family ! so the william ages 19 is probably his nephew going by the ages. what a coincidence ! lol. sue. |

hi maggie, i know ! this lot are unbelievable ! plus i have found the death of a baby [ f william walker/m mary hepplestone]called charles walker hepplestone- in sept 1873, aged 0. so she must have had the baby before they married. considering william walker was in prison in 1871- he was a busy man ! lol sue. |
