Hi Maz I also have a look on 1837 online from Dec 1870-Mar 1871 and couldn't see any Daniel Jennings or Turner in the right area. I also checked the original image for 1881 and it is definitely Daniel A Jennings (not E). Sorry I couldn't help more. Carolyn

Well girls! I'm hoping its Daniel Alfred - cos thats the marriage cert I've ordered from NZ!! The dad's name was Daniel - well, thats who the mum married 2 months later anyway. Wanted to get the birth cert if poss. just to see what it says. This is the first cousin of my grandad - the one he stowed away to stay with in NZ!! Thanks so much for taking the time to look for it for me. Maz. XX

Hi, Could the baby have been registered with the E or A name, and Daniel as a middle name? Not much help if you don't know the A or E though! Pat

Hi Maz Sorry I've been so long. I have checked between July 1870 and June 1871. Jennings, Turner and (in case of mistranscription) Jenkins etc. Can't find anything in the possible areas. Just one thing though - where is Beaminster? It's the only one I didn't know but didn't sound like London. Chrissie

Thank you Yvonne. Really sorry, I should have said the birth will be probably Poplar, West Ham or the surrounding area. Thank you for looking. Maz. XX

Hi Maz, Had a look at 1837 online for the march quarter of 1871, no Daniel Jennings in this quarter, but there is a Daniel Turner - Bakewell (Derbyshire) ref 7b 611 - could this be your chap? Hope it is of some use - regards, Yvonne

I am trying to find a birth that took place in about January of 1871. The child is shown on the 1871 census as age 3 months - the census was taken 2nd April. The child's christian name is Daniel, with a middle name beginning either A or E, depending which census you look at! The surname is either Jennings or Turner, depending on whether the mother claimed to be married at the time or not! It is just the birth I need, as I have all the census entries and don't want anyone to waste their time. Thank you so much. Maz. XX
