Hi Dawn, do you live far from Devon now? I moved away when I was younger but came back 5 years ago when I had the kids. I used to hate Devon growing up here because I thought it was so boring but now I love it, much more laidback than anywhere else I've been. Louisex |

Hi everyone, thanks very much for your help. Thanks Wendy, they certainly moved around a lot! Lita, my family on my grandads side are all from Exeter, I wasn't born here but my parents moved down to Okehampton about 20 years ago. Nice to have somebody nearby, you must know Exeter quite well? Thanks again Louisex |

Thanks for that Wendy, I would like the 1871 information please when you get a minute. Where in Devon are you Donna? I live in Exmouth and my husband is working in Brixham at the moment, I think the areas were quite different in those days. Louisex |

Hi if anybody has the 1841 census for Devon I would be very grateful if they would do a lookup for me. I am looking for CORNELIUS HAMLING born c1831 in Brixham Devon. His father was RICHARD HAMLING, a Merchant (in 1852). They should be around the Brixham area, last address I have in 1851- THE QUAY, TOTNES, BRIXHAM. This is all the information I have unfortunately so I would be grateful for anything. Thanks very much Louisex |
