I'm on the hunt for missing family so if there's anyone you need looking up I can keep an eye out. There is NO name index for these discs so I need either an address or a village. DERBY alone covers several folios and I cannot trawl the lot without a more specific location. No personal messages please. Lou

Hi Lou, You're a glutton for punishment aren't you! Anyway, I wasn't going to search for these until I'd exhausted my Dillon branch but I can't resist your offer! I have a John Bateman born c. 1826 in Middleton, Derby. His father is called Philip. By 1855 he was in Manchester but if you run across any possibles in Middleton in the 1841 please let me know. Thanks, Louise

I wonder if you could look up in 1861 a Cockayne family at Sandiacre - John who would be 60, in 61, Sarah 50 and children John 32, Harriett 30, William27, Henry 25, Edward 21, Robert 19. I know they are on the 41 census all 20 years younger . The older ones may have left home!! but hopefully you can find Robert born in 1846 whom I'm trying to trace. Many thanks for your offer. If you can find out if any other cockaynes exist in Sandiacre that would be useful too!

Dear Lou Would you be able to look a STephen Sherwin and his family in 1841 he would have been approximately 5 and was born in Brassington Derbyshire. It is around the Chapel en le Frith, Buxton, Hognaston area. and the civil parish was Hartington Upper Quarter, In 1861 he would have been 25 so I am not sure that he would still have been with his parents although he did not get married to the wife I know about until 1866 and they married in Manchester so he could have been there in the 1861 census. Don't know any other names for certain but there is a strong possibility that his father was named George! Thank you for looking Abigail

**Chris** They're not in Shardlow or Chaddesden in 1861. Anywhere else you'd like me to try? I don't have the 1861 Mars yet and I can't find my one that covers Jupiter's moons which is a shame cos I'm sure that's where all mine are! Lou

**Teresa** Even the centre of Derby covers over 1000 pages. Do you mind if I keep you on my list of To Do's cos that's actually where all mine are (around All Saints and St Werburgh) so I'm going to have to search the LOT over the weekend so can do yours at the same time Lou

**Chris** Given that I don't have the 1861 Mars yet and I can't find my one that covers Jupiter's moons which is a shame cos I'm sure that's where all mine are, I shall have a look at Spondon and Ockbrook. A few of mine came from Spondon actually so do need to search that disc at some point anyway. Not sure whether I'll get to it tonight now though...was up last night till 5am with 2 poorly children so not feeling too chipper today and trawling those returns kills the eyes! Lou

Thank you so much for your time and effort. The info you have given me may enable me to trace what may be members of the family. Without your help I was going no where fast for 3 years!! Wish I could return the favour!
