Hi Maureen Wow! Thanks for your swift reply!! I am hoping there maybe something in the info on either Alfred or William RUSSELL that is mine! I actually have my own thread trying to get a 'break through' on these two but with no luck so far so here's hoping!! If you could give me any info on their siblings (both Alfreds and both Williams if poss!) that would be fantastic! Thanks once again for your help. Regards Evie

Coralie Report 7 Mar 2005 00:01

Hello Maureen I am looking for the marraige of Mary Ann Sarah Evans born 1837 Stepney to Robert Matthewman (Ships Rigger) born 1832 Jersey, Channel Islands. In the 1871 census they are living at Bromley, St Leonards. Their eldest son Harry Robert Matthewman was was born c1867 Stepney. Mary Ann and Robert were probably married in the 1860's in Stepney. If my hunch is correct, Mary Ann's father would be Charles Evans, (Lighterman). Thanks Coralie

Hello again Maureen, Thank you for looking for James Cox born abt 1835. Thetford is in Norfolk but is very close to the border with Suffolk so He could be there too! Here are some of the nearby parishes - I expect there are others I have missed too. Norfolk: Croxton, Kilverstone, Little Snarehill, West Tofts. Kilverstone, Santon Downham (SFK), Elvedon (SFK), Barnham (SFK) I doubt that his marriage will be in Thetford but I know he married Elizabeth in probably about 1855 most likely in Greenwich or Sydenham, if you have time, perhaps you wouldn't mind looking for this too. No rush!! Once again thank you for your help. Have a good week-end. Alice

Hi Jenny and Debi Sorry about that looks as though I did half the pages and forgot the other half, had looked it up but not actually let you know. Think there is a couple more as have not marked them off as replied. Sorry to disappoint both of you as tried 10 years either side with no luck, I feel awful as seem to say no to more than I can actually help, thought there would have been more on these discs, a bit disappointed in them really. Hi Maureen Hope those visitors make you tea, hoover and generally make a fuss of you this weekend. Have a good time. Now I too am one of those missed off and have included original message in this one so as you don't have to trawl through the list. I'm in no hurry either - these ancestors aren'yt going anywhere after all said and done :~)) Thank you once again . Maureen you poor thing . Hope your foot mends quickly for you. I am searching for a marriage of Joseph THACKWELL ( Sometimes known as James Joseph ) to Mary HALL. It would appear their first daughter Jane Elizabeth Thackwell was born in gatecombe ( poss Somerset ) in 1829. Some evidence points to them marrying in NEWPORT and some suggests Gatecomb. Would you be able to find them for me please? Plus could I also ask for Jane's birth to be searched for too? Many thanks for your offer of help Much happiness Debi
