Valerie Sorry no luck - I have tried every combination of names I can think of. I found their marriage in 1868 in Lambeth and a child born in Sheffield in 1874, and you say they were in Dewsbury in 1881!! I even looked in the Wales Census incase they drifted!! Maybe they went over to Ireland to see Augusta's folks!! Cheers Michelle PS I hate giving up so I'll keep looking and if I get lucky I'll mail you!

Michelle! Well I'll be blowed.... have been searching for them on and off for over a year, all spelling variations (including Paris, which is the correct one!), even 1st name searches. They never came up before, I swear! All I can think of is that Ancestry must have updated their index recently. Strange!! Anyway, many thanks for finding them for me, Richard

Michelle Report 3 Mar 2005 21:44

Sharon Sorry - there are so many Hawkins in and around the Darlaston area, but I can't find a Thomas with father William and mother Mary Ann. The nearest I came was a Thomas aged 13 born Darlaston, with Father William aged 58 and a Muscian!! with Mother Harriet + 3 sisters living in Willenhall road Darlaston. I found a possible for Thomas on the 1891 census living in Radford Notts a Coal Miner married to Sarah with children George, Thomas, Mary A, Benjamin and Lilly. He was aged 31 then and born in Darlaston. Looked up quite a few William Hawkins but couldn't find a Blacksmith!! Cheers Michelle
