The Monaghans that Kate found are definitely the ones I've been looking for.Iknew William was killed WW1 and a family friend with interest in the military has loads of software on the subject .He had a look and found that William definitely born Wednesbury so at least managed to solve one half of the puzzle,Thanks to all of you for your time .Linda

sorry Linda i meant the Monaghan family there is a William 16 living with father James (i have two james in my tree that are sometimes James/John depending how they feel) also found a George Taylor 45 living with wife Mary J, 39 and son George A 9 in Wednesbury, maybe the Mary J who Jess found was living/visiting her grandparents at the time.

so we are looking at George Taylor, with children in Staffs, maybe, (if so probably Wednesbury) with 4/5 children mary, William (maybe George) and twins Margaret and Elizabeth? in 1901 jess

Kate .Mary,s father was a labourer ,Johns father a gas stoker Jess.Family info says there were twins Margaret & Elizabeth and William.Also think Marys mother might have been Bella,whatever that was short for.Dont know how reliable this is .Wont be able to answer for a while got to go out now but thanks for your help.Linda

There's a 12 year old Mary J Taylor in the right area on the 1901 but she's with grandparents so no guarantee that's her There's also a 10 year old Mary Taylor but Mum's the Head, not the father!

Thanks Jess,I'll make a note of those .I only know that my ma-in- law says that Mary Jane came from that area.I thought I would have least found her on the 1891 census but I cant find the family.Linda

Hi Chloe.Mary Jane is my husbands grandmother& according to his mom this is the area they came from I sent for a birth certificate which was the same year & area but it was the wrong one .I just have no idea which way to go on this .Linda

Do you have any idea where she was born? In which county? Just because she married in Wednesbury, doesn't mean she was born there....

I have the marriage certificate for Mary Jane Taylor marr.July 1908 age 20 fathre George in Wednesbury Staffs.I have looked on 1891 & 1901 census for her but cant find her.I believe she also had a brother George.She married W illiam Monaghan, father John & were both living in Forge St ,Kings Hill Wednesbury at the time of their marriage.Anyone any idea how I can find them.I'd be really grateful if someone could help.Linda
