thanks maggy ! hi george, you did a look up for me before, but i now have so many , i would hate to ask you for them all. i booked wednesday and thursday off work this week to go myself. but we had a couple of major family problems- so that never came off. i intended messaging you george, because you said if you possible could, you might be able to meet me there and show me where everything was [ so i didnt have to keep pestering the staff, lol] so i hope your offer is still open .... because i WILL get there ! many thanks , sue.

Hi Sue, The Leeds Parish Church of St Peter's Records are all held at The leeds Central Library (Local Studies Section) There are indexes to most of them. Some are on Microfiche and some on on film. Up to 1837 they have printed records of Baptisms and Marriages. Let me know what you want and I will have a quick look for you. George

Hi again Sue, the number that I have given you is for the Leeds Records Office, but I don't know when they open. The records for St. Peters aren't at Wakefield, I have already asked there. You have the same problem as me, I could do with a month off work!! Good luck Maggy

hi maggy- the problem with the place at wakefield is that you have to pre arrange to go [ isnt it by appointment] that might be difficult, i am never sure of my days off work. but with a library i can go first chance i get. have a long list to sort through , lol, should be able to find something , fingers crossed, sue.

Hi Sue, I asked about the Parish Records for you the last time I was in Wakefield Archives, maybe you didn't see my reply. They told me that the records are held at Leeds. I have been looking through my bits of paper and the phone number for the Leeds Record Office is 0113 2628339. Don't know whether you have tried the Familia website, but try familia(.)org(.)uk that will give you information on the local offices. Good Luck. Maggy

i too ordered the leeds burials- and i too was disapointed by the st peters ! lol. i used to go to huddersfield library often- i might give them a ring next week and see if they hold the st peters , leeds records. it is much easier for mr to go there, sue.

I'm lead to beleive that photo-copies of all the registers are held at all the archives in towns in West Yorkshire, I often go to the archives in Wakefield and all photo-copies of church registers are held there, which is open Monday Tuesday & Thursday. Allan

Hi Sue I have got a feeling that that is the Parish Church in Leeds. If I am right it is in the City Centre. You may be able to get the records from there. Susand

Just browsing the messages and saw this one. Did you have any luck finding where you could get the information from? Would be interested to know as I need some information from there too. I have tried loads of places but most of them didn't even reply! Cheers!
