Find Ancestors

Ihave found a death on free bmd for Hannah Shenton dec quarter of 1866 before i send for it i wondered if someone could look it up for me in staffordshire. I don't know how much info the index will give but i need to know age and cause of death, if it gives that info.It's stoke on trent Hope someone can help. thank you. Gill Bailes

Hi Ann thank you for looking i am hoping she died in child birth(that sounds terrible but you know what i mean) I have a great grandfather who i have on the 1871 census aged 6 but can't find a birth with the parents he's with. so i am looking at fathers sister. Gill

There are two children born Stoke on Trent December Quarter, James Shenton 6b 197 and Rowland Shenton 6b 206.

Hello out there his name was John Thomas shenton sorry so long getting back got called away. on the 1871 census he was with Enoch and Elizabeth Shenton living in Buchnal new rd Hanley but i can't find a baptisam or a registration for him been looking for 5 yrs. He was 6 in 1871. thanks for your interest Gill

Yes alot of kind people have tried to look for him for me and my cousin and myself have been through all the parish records in hanley. But we are going to local morman church on tuesday to start again.As iv said before i can't believe they didn't register or baptised him thats why i am thinking he might have been a child of another family member.Gill

Gillian Just been looking through the tread again, is Hannah Shenton her married name or maiden name? The reason I ask is that he may have been registered under a maiden name prior to marriage. We seem to have jumped from Hannah to the Enoch and Elizabeth family, what is the connection, were these Hannah's parents? And they took on John T as their own after Hannah died. Am I getting this all the wrong way round or what, like you I am now getting confused. What is the family connection if any? Victor

Enoch has a sister Hannah but also a jounger br William i thought maybe could be Hannah child or maybe Williams Enoch and Elizabeth had at least one other son who didn't live Henry in 1863.

Going to look at the Dudley one. I don't know about Hannahs name clutching at straws here trying to think of reasons he wouldn't be registered with the parents i have him with in 1871

Hi Georgina. Yes Elizabeth was married before but she married Enoch Shenton in 1863 i have the marridge John wasn't born till about 1865. Gill
