Hi Maureen, I wonder if you could check the 1871 Census for the HAY family. In 1861 they were living at 51 Princes St, Perth and the family consisted of: Margaret T Hay (widow) head 36 grocer James Hay son 11 Alexander Hay son 9 Agnes Hay dau 7 Thomas Hay son 5 Margaret M Hay dau 3 Margarets husband, James Hay, was a Ships Master who was alive in March 1858 and apparently dead by the time of the census in 1861. He is the real target for my research but there seems no record of his death anywhere. If you have any ideas on this one I would be grateful to hear. Many thanks Geoff Price |
