Hi, Sybil I can answer your question on Sandygate House ,yes it was a hospital at one time, it was people used to be transfered their after a operation,it was a converlesance hospital, it is in Sandygate Road not far off the town centre.It is a restrant & hotel.Wath-Upon-Dearne used to be called the Queen of the villages, when my mom was a little girl, if would have lived she would have been 87 yrs,old now,so I hope that helps you, I was born in Wath, hope your research goes well,take care.

Sandygate House is now a hotel in Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham. Not sure of it's origins or exact age but it's a stonebuilt building probably 100 - 150 years old

TRYING TO FIND INFO ON SANDGATE OR SANDIGATE HOUSE ROTHERHAM. WAS THIS A HOSPITAL? BRIAN FREDERICK HEALEY WAS BORN HERE IN 1942 EITHER THAT OR HIS BIRTH WAS REGISTERED HERE. TOTALLY LOST AND UP IN THE NORTH OF SCOTLAND SO ANY HELP OR LEADS WOULD BE GREAT.
