Norwich lookups, please. I am looking for the Beaney family from Norwich. We have them on the 1851 as: St Edmunds Square, Norwich. Rebecca BEANEY,widow, 54 Harriot BEANEY, daughter18yrs, Adam BEANEY, son 17yrs William BEANEY, son, 9yrs Rebecca Dyson married Thomas BEANEY, in 1815. They had a daughter, Rebecca in 1817. (Norfolk transcriptions) Thomas is believed to have died in 1851, just before census. There may have also been a daughter, Elizabeth. Can anyone find this family, or any of them on the 1841 or any later census please? Adam married Sarah Burr and later moved to New Zealand. David

Hello Daphne, Thanks for looking, Sorry I don't know where St Edmunds Sq is or was. Rebecca Beaney Elizabeth Beaney and Adam Dyson Beaney, were all members of St Mary's Baptist Church, Now Central Baptist Church, Norwich. Their Historian told me that Elizabeth Married Henry Grimes, also a member. This MAY be their marriage on Free BMDs: Dec 1846 Bene? Elizabeth Norwich 13 724 Ben* Elizabeth Norwich 13 724 Grimes Henry Norwich 13 724 Adam Dyson Beaney left the church and joined Blackfriars Baptist Church, London before marrying and moving to NZ. I am particularly interested in Elizabeth Beaney, and if Thomas and Rebecca are her parents, as she was my gr gr gr grandmother. I am also in touch with someone in NZ who is descended from Adam Dyson Beaney, and is interested to hear from descendents of his siblings. I think I read somewhere that one member of the family later lived in Bull Close Road,Norwich. regards David

Thanks Alice and Daphne That information will take quite a bit of digesting, It looks very much as though this is the family. There was another Beaney/Dyson Marriage in 1815, Ann Beaney and Adam Dyson, so it seens that brother and sister married brother and sister. Kind regards and many thanks, David
