Dancer (!) Addres on 61 is 11 Davidson Street, Salford. Can't check 51 as don't have access to it. Victor Maybe you are right but I think from the records I have that she was not born before civil registration. Lyn |

The reason why I asked if you have the certificates was to check out her fathers name. Have looked at eh 1861 and find the parnets came from Ireland, this could be difficult. I would suggest that Elizabeth was born prior to 1837 and therefore was not on the register. Church records being the only option left. Victor |

TC Really, I didn't know that! Well maybe I should just ask the GRO to do a 3 year search as I have her father's name and (I hope) her mother's first name. However, I still find it strange that each census from 1861 - 1881 says Liverpool then in 1891 it says Manchester. Looks like I'm going to have to fork out for a search then. Thanks again for your input. Lyn |

I'm presuming you have looked on IGI ...? Have you got her on the census's with parents ? Dancer x If you have downloaded all the indexes from 1837 - 1840 ... I wouldn't waste your money getting GRO to do 3yr search - they will only search for Liverpool entries anyway. |

As I said - it may be one of them are her because Liverpool and Manchester were very closely associated at that time. |

Hi, you checked for the birth on 1837 online? As you know the freebmd and ancestry arent complete. It wasnt actually compulsory for people to register until much later so it may be she never was registered if she was born 1837ish. Hey, I just re read your posting - Liverpool was considered part of Manchester at one point I believe. |

Elizabeth FORD, b 1837/39 in Liverpool, Lancashire. She married Patrick FORD in 1862, age stated as 25. Patrick died in 1875 and she married James Masterson in 1880. I have checked every birth record for Elizabeth Ford born Sep 1837 – Dec 1840 in Lancashire but none of them are in Liverpool. I have her on census from 1861 to 1891. 1891 census says she was born in Manchester but 61,71 and 81 all say Liverpool. Can anyone give me an idea what to do next? Should I ask the GRO to do a 3 year search for me? Thanks Lyn |
