Kim Just put in the name Nathan and the year and location, then see what comes up. Its okay if you have an unusual name like his, if it is more readily used then it is more difficult. Victor

Usually search on info known without any surname, look for things that match, or surnames that are not familiar, Helen

Thanks to everyone for the information. Can I just ask how do you search for the person and find them mistranscribed. I had tried putting in Bur* on ancestry but this obviously would not of given me Bell? Kim

Hi Kim I have found your folks on the 1881 census,they appear on the census as Bell,but all names,ages and pobs match: Baker St, Enfield,Middx Nathan Bell Head 40 Ag lab b Hatfield,Herts Jane Bell 37 Wife b Enfield Maria Bell 8 daur Scholar b Enfield George Bell 8mths son b Enfield If you message me your email addy I will forward the image to you. Hi Can anybody find my missing family on any census so far I have only been able to locate them on the 1901 census. The family should consist of Nathan Burles (sometimes spelt Burls) born 1840 place unknown. Jane Burles nee Warren born 1845 Enfield, Middlesex Maria Burles born 1874 Enfield, Middlesex George Burles born 1880 Enfield, Middlesex Sarah Burles born 1882 Enfield, Middlesex Thanks ofr any help you can give, as I feel like I am hitting a brick wall.
