Hi Jane, I come across this Edward ( Bolter) on the 1871 census,I cannot find this Edward on the 1861 or 1881 census, he might be completely wrong, but he is a glove maker and one of the children is a shoe clicker. On the 1881 census the Dewicks seem to be in the same trade. I will send you an image if you e-mail me e-address. Only problem (amongst all the others) is I haven't found Susannah, I know she married an Edwin Pike, it states it on the 1881 census. Just thought I would tell you about them Regards Vera |

Again , thank you all for trying.......... it's so annoying isn't it !!! Vera - thanks for that, as Susannah didn't marry Edwin Pike until 1879, she should still be around as a Dewick too, ( well you'd think !!). have tried the usual method of just the forename, with no surname and trawled through anything similar, but nothing there ! think i'm going to have to admit defeat :o( Jane |

Maybe they just didn't answer the door when the enumerator called? Or it was raining and the enumerator got the form wet as he came away from their house (you know how that ink can run??!)? Or.......a million and one other possibilities! Sarah |

This is a very BIG long shot .......... but I found this. I can't look at the image to check and the only reason I noticed it was because it was an Edward and Edwin together in the right area of the right ages. Harriet Dickens abt 1832 Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Housekeeper St Margaret Leicestershire Edward Everitt abt 1830 St Margaret, Leicestershire, England Head St Margaret Leicestershire Edwin Everitt abt 1861 St Margaret, Leicestershire, England Son St Margaret Leicestershire Ann Smith abt 1848 Northamptonshire, England Lodger St Margaret Leicestershire Source information: RG10/3277 Registration district: Leicester Sub-registration district: East Leicester ED, institution, or vessel: 63 Folio: 62 Page: 2 (click to see others on page) Household schedule number: 10 GSU Number: 839286 Can you get some one to look at the image and check the transcription.......if only to dis-count it. Esta x I know I might be clutching at straws ! |
