Hello, in the 1851 census of Norfolk James Woolner (Born in Hingham, Norfolk) and his wife Eliza were living in Hackford in Norfolk. In the 1861 census Eliza Woolner (spelt in this case Woollner)and her son John (born ca 1857) were living in Hackford, but husband John wasnt present. In 1871 and subsequent censuses I found John living in Garton Yorkshire. He was listed as married to Ann (maiden name not yet known) with whom he had two further children, James May (born ca 1860) and Happy (born ca 1865). Was James a bigamist ? Is there a way of looking up divorce records for that period ? I need help in locating James Woolners marriage certificates, both to Eliza and to Ann, and also the bith certificates of his children. The problem is that the surname 'Woolner' is often misspelt. Woolnough, Woolmer, Woollner, Woolno are variations. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks, David Woolner
