Okay I now have birth cert for Amelia Daisy Wilson which confirms parents names as George Wilson and Florence Young - so this entry is confirmed
Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1913 Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Mother's Maiden Name Reference WILSON Amelia Daisy Alston Preston YOUNG ALST/27/12
Residence of parents at time of birth 98 Preston Road, Dilworth, Longridge
If any others can be tied in to these parents at this address it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dennis
The 1911 confirms Florence Wilson 1906, Albert Wilson 1908and Sarah Wilson 1911 - I also have birth of William Wilson in Portsmouth in 1905 and Rachel Wilson in Staines in 1900
Marriage of George Wilson and Florence Young also ties in with date on 1911 census as June qtr 1899 Staines any fuller details that can be obtained would be appreciated

Hi Malcolm and Maureen
Sorry for the delay in replying but I have not access to web at home yet so having to use work pc.
Thank you for the latest information and I think the 1881 census I ad could be wrong as you guessed as I came across this marriage entry
Marriages Sep 1905 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CRACKNELL Walter William Woolwich 1d 2317 FORD Lydia Woolwich 1d 2317 ROGERS George Henry Woolwich 1d 2317 YOUNG Florence Amelia Woolwich 1d 2317
As my Florence married 1899 and was still having children passed 1913 this cannot be her. I have sent off for birth cert of Amelia Daisy Wilson b1913 who I KNOW is correct and hope this will clear up mothers maiden name.
Thanks again for your help, always appreciated.
Dennis
Hi Maureen again
I think you may be right with Cissie as I did another search and came across these possibilities

Births Jun 1905 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wilson Cecilia Barrow F. 8e 788 Wilson Cecilia Florence Croydon 2a 285
Births Dec 1910 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WILSON Celia A Southwark 1d 88

Hi Dennis - just a quick note on a couple of quirks of the Lancs BMD site. Firstly, they index by year of birth, not by quarter of rego, so you'll occassionally get results like:
Births Mar 1919 (>99%) Benson George A Slevin Wigan 8c 32
Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1918 Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Mother's Maiden Name Reference BENSON George Austin Wigan Wigan & Leigh WIG/292/83
Secondly, a look up under Preston is actually a look up of registers now held at Preston, i.e., the modern Lancashire Rego D - this happens to include the old 1901-1931 Preston RD, but this might not be the case for all modern rego districts with old names.

Hi Maureen
Tried to progress it a bit but there are a lot of Florence Young's born middx around 1880 but think this is a possibility as mother called Amelia and she could well have called her daughter after her mother.

Hi Dennis. Ah-now I get it.
Yes,I think you'll have to get the birth certificate. Certainly looks like she'd belong to that family, though!!

Hi Maureen
Many thanks for your reply. It is Amelia Daisy Wilson that married in 1934 and her marriage cert gave George as father and builder by trade. I do know that there was a Celia (which may be Cecilia) but have not got a date of birth or location for her. Here is BMD for birth of Amelia - not sure if it is possible to get details of father for this without having to buy cert (chances are I'll have to buy)
Births Jun 1913 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wilson Amelia D Young Preston 8e 1114
Best wishes

Hi Dennis, Not sure what you're looking for. So did Celia marry in 1934?? Is her age not on the marriage cert??

Revisiting this one with an update and believe previous searches are not the correct family. Would therefore like any information on following
Head of Household George Wilson bc1874 Lincs (occupation in 1934 builder) believe he married Florence Young in 1899
Marriages Jun 1899 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wilson George Staines 3a 50 Young Florence Staines 3a 50
1911 shows five children but states six and all living: Rachel c1900 Willie (William?) c1906 Florrie (Florence?) c1907 Albert c1909 Sarah c1911
I'm looking for a Celia or Cecilia Wilson born to George and Florence between 1900 and 1920 - this pair travelled so unfortunately could be anywhere but children above born Staines, Portsmouth and last three Lancashire - family residing at Gas Street Longridge in 1911.
I've been informed there may be around 12 children although not all survived.
Thanks
Dennis

There is a 5 year old Alice Amelia Wilson in Islington on the 1901 census with father George. Would she be too old to be your Amelia? Do you have Amelia's marriage certificate? If so what does it give for George's occupation? That could help find him.

May I please ask if someone could have a quick lookup on a longshot. Unfortunately it is right on the edge of 1901 census and I have no idea of dates - it would have to be on possible children/family group. Please do not spend too much time on this as it is a longshot.
Looking for George Wilson as head of household - children:
Amelia Daisy
George
Joseph
Albert
Celia
Amelia married someone born 1902 so she may be outside of census unsure of others but George the son may just be inside.
Thank you in anticipation.
Dennis
