The 1881 image shows a George RUSHBY, 30 a married Police Constable born Sturton, Lincolnshire at the home of Elizabeth PAINE a 65 years old widow. He is not with any other family and is shown as her grandson. They are living at 43 Petre Street, Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield. Do you have George's marriage certificate, which hopefully would show his father's name? I couldn't identify George on the 1871 census.

G/day to you all, can anyone help me out again please. i need info on a policeman his name was George Rushby b1850, he married Elizabeth Marlow 18 Aug 1872 in the parish church Cobham, Surrey. on the certificate which is'nt a very good one it says he was a Police Constable but it does not say where he was born. So is there any way of finding out where he came from. He is not with Elizabeth and children in the 1881 to 1901 census, in 1901 Elizabeth is listed as being a widow. Hope someone can help. Thank you Tim in Oz
