Leanne If you give me the details I can go into the Alexandra library in Perth on thursday and look them up. Are they all Western Australian births and so forth? Do you know where abouts in Wa? Regards Pam

Leeanne Report 4 Sep 2005 22:26

Hi Pam I am fairly sure it would be in WA....around old Swan Valley and the Perth surrounds...this seems to be the only way to narrow the search.... Thanks Leeanne

Hello Ladies, Did you know that the Western Australian Pioneers Index is online? I will see if I can see your people. I found the births. However the index only goes from 1841 - 1905. To find the website put this into Google exactly as I have typed it. 'Western Australia' +Births Deaths and Marriages The first result Google brings up should be the one. The website address starts with www.justice - OK? Have fun! There is also a great Western Australian Marriages look up site at: http://www(.)openwindows(.)com/marriage/search.htm Remove the brackets surrounding the dots - have fun! Cheers, Lynn

Leanne Another useful website is the Perth Metropolitan Cemeteries Board: www.mcb.wa.gov.au Your Albert and Susannah are both listed: Albert died 13-Oct-1956 in South Chittering aged 88 and Susannah died 25-Oct-1961 in Como aged 90. They are buried in Midland cemetery, grave # D0035. Lionel George died 12-Feb-1999 in Chittering aged 98, and is buried in the same grave. Cecil Aubrey died 1-Apr-1986 in Subiaco, aged 88 and is buried at Karrakatta cemetery, grave # A0017. Richard

I drive past Karrakatta cemetery every day so that is no problem. Midland is a bit further away from me but could look next time I'm up that way. Richard

Hi Pam I don't quite understand the listing for Elizabeth Evelyn Bell... I have a Evelyn (Everline) Bell...I thought it was a middle name...Although my Evelyn was born 1902.... So am wondering who this Elizabeth is? Is she illegitimate? Bit confused Leeanne

Leeanne I just found this website, which is a family tree that seems to link in to your Albert: http://www.webace(.)com.au/~smidgers/index.htm Go to the surnames link and select King. Your Albert (b1868) is there, parents William King & Eliza Louisa Glover. One of his siblings is Charles HANSLOME King, so it certainly looks as though there's a connection! The person whose website it is doesn't have Albert's descendants listed, but she might be a useful contact! Her email address is on her homepage. The Evelyn Bell that Pam found is not yours - yours is on my posting above (Everline). Richard

Thats alright Richard I was going into town at some time anyway. A bit windy and raining. Midland cemetry is in Myles Road and it is off Morrison Road which I drive up daily. I live in Swan View apparantly there is a short cut I can walk through from Talbot road. Will take the dog for a walk if I can find it . Otherwise take the car. Regards Pam

Hi Pam and Richard... Firstly, I can't access the address....any ideas? I am extremely grateful and appreciative of your generous offer...Am feeling guilty though...I am in Perth too..Fremantle..My life is full with kids...and no personal time as I work, have only just confirmed my ggrandmothers name! I would like the transcriptions, though only if it doesn't put you both out.... Again, my thanks Leeanne

Leeanne - you have to remove the brackets () from the address first! GR doesn't accept website addresses with dot-com in them hence the reason why we need to put the brackets in. Just checked the MCB website again and Cecil was cremated so there won't be a headstone in any case. Cheers, Richard

Hello I have walked around the midland cemetery but no luck. There was no one in the litttle office to guide me. I tried all the D sections in the Anglican and also various denominations. I wonder if there is a map on line to give me an idea. Thank goodness I didnot walk the dog, they are not allowed in there. Leanne I will go again. Regards Pam

Thank you so much Pam....it is really appreciated.... I wanted to add if yourself or Richard have anyone to check at Fremantle Cemetery I could manage to get one of the older kids to watch the little one on a weekend for a couple of hours...and go check it for either of you......the others are just too hard...Don't get time to scratch myself lately Thanks for that Pam Leeanne
