CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIND THE BIRTH CERTS. FOR WILLIAM (BERKELEY) BLAKE BORN 1875/1876 NOT SURE WHERE AND ELEANOR JESSIE EBBS BORN 1877ISH NOT SURE WHERE. WILLIAM BLAKES FATHER ON WEDDING CERT. IS WILLIAM BLAKE (DECEASED) PROFESSION ENGINEER AND EBBS FATHER IS JOHN EBBS (DECEASED) PROFESSION MARINER. THEY WERE MARRIED IN LIVERPOOL. HE APPEARS ON 1891 AND 1901 CENSUS AND SHE ONLY APPEARS ON 1901 CENSUS WITH HIM. THANKS

If you have them on the 1901 census it should say where they were born. Can't find an Eleanor Ebbs born +/- 1 year 1877 on the 1881 census. - nell

This is the marriage...... BLAKE, William Berkeley 1901 March Marriages Toxteth Park Lancashire Ebbs, Eleanor Jessie Rose

1901 census says both were born in Liverpool, but as I can't find them there or anywhere don't know. As William Blake is a boarder on 1891 and 1901 census he could be from anywhere. Any suggestions? His middle name is Berkeley don't know if this can help?

If William Berkeley Blake was born 1874ish he won't be on the 1871 census. Do you think the birth ref I found for Eleanor Ebbs could be Jessie's? Sometimes folk did change their names, and Eleanor was born West Derby, which is a district in Liverpool. nell

As you have Eleanor Ann/Jessie's marriage cert, you can use her father's name on that as a check when ordering the birth cert. If William says he was born 1876 Liverpool in 1901 why do you think he would be 1871 Melksham? He'd only appear on the census if he was born before census night in 1871 - ie before 2 April 1871. nell
