Kim Relations can be terribly misleading with the info they give...........memories can play tricks. Rose

No Mhairi, the parents' names do not appear on English death certs...........if only!! Only the name and 'qualification' of the informant is given on the cert. If the deceased is a female who has married, her maiden name is listed, but even that wasn't always the case! Rose

The Bag Report 21 Sep 2005 20:19

He may well have been Kim, will look now and see where he and Jane were living in 1901. (mr & Mrs Seagrove and their family were living at 53 whichelo place in 1881 ) What i have been doing is looking for a marriage of a harriet mitchell to a frank Lucas - we know his father was dead, but we dont know how long dead , so it is possible his mother remarried. cant find a marriage though. there are 11 Henry Mitchells that died in Bighton within a realistic time!

Kimbo

Kimbo Report 22 Sep 2005 09:32

JESS, i presume you are looking for henry thomas dad on the 1901 census there is an henry mitchell listed with the occupation as a house painter and this is what is listed on his sons marriage certificate so i would think that he is likely to be the one we are looking for it says in 1901 he is 42/43 yrs old so must have been alive but on his sons marriage cetrificate says he is deceased so i dont know if his mother had him illegitametly and told her son thomas that he had died (as if the henry mitchell on the census is the right one then he would of been very young to have had a child approx 17/18) or he had had a falling out with his father so didnt want him listed on the marriage certificate? seems quite a difficult one this....kimx
