trying to find kew family from county durham. george william kew born 1898 craghead, county durham parents john william kew born abt 1875, annie calvert 1880 washington, county durham. 1901 census has them as KERR but ancestry 1901 has them as KEW. john williams father was john william kew but waS deceased at the time of john and annies marriage july 2 1898. it is not a popular name but i am having a really hard job trying to find this family. does anyon have any tips cheers sharon |

before, cos my grandma was born 1920 is still alive so she can help a bit but before 1900 is proving to be a big problem thanx |

Change the title to your thread to: Census lookups wanted ... that way those with access to the census's know they can try and help you ! they may already be looking for you anyway ... but when I first saw your title, I assumed you were looking for living people ... and nearly didn't open your thread. from what i have got he was born in penshaw/pensher or painshaw as it was know then but thats all i`ve got , i cannot evn find a birth for him or i would have gotten his cert |

The 1881 info I posted is not your chap....I've followed him through to 1901. Would you post on here the full details from the 1901 census for your chap, so we can cross-check Rose |

cheers everyone, i have tried the 1881 census but can`t find him anywhere so i don`t know if it`s a spelling of the surname problem i also am registered to durhamrecordsonline and can`t find him on there either. can anyone help on surname variants cos i am really sick of this name now |
