Hi Paula, Thank you very much for looking for my Michael Logue. Unfortunately he remains a mystery man as the one you found in the 1841 census is too old to be the one I'm looking for. However, given the fact that this is a relatively unusal name in that part of the world they may be related, so it's useful to have the ones you found in my possible links folder. Thanks again. Louise

Hi Paula, Many Thanks for checking. I have been given the address of the Cemeteries Office in Newcastle, so I will get in touch and hope they can help. I tried to phone but they don't receive incoming calls. Again Many Thanks, John

Lorraine, I've just realised that these were the entries that were in twice. Am I right and you were trying to work out which ones were the correct ones. Paula

Paula Thank you that is brilliant and they are the right people. I know how hard it is to do look ups for other people when you don't know the background of their people so many thanks, I really do appreciate it. Best Wishes Andrea (Who has just got back from the dentist and has a frozen mouth, boohoo)

Sandra, The baptisms for Morpeth didn't go up to 1856 and there were so many for Newcastle and most of those also didn't go to 1856. I did attempt to find his birth but when I realised that they go by quarter and in the first quarter there were about 6 Frederick Thompson's I thought I'd better try and get a little more information first. John, There were so many cemetery records I didn't know where to start. I will have a look where Park Road is and next time I go I'll have a better idea of where to look. Paula

Lorraine Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any George Blanchard Lamb baptised in Earsdon in 1827. The others didn't have the fathers occupation anyway. If you can give me his parents names I can have a wider look next time. Paula

Andrea, Anthony Oats married Ann Robinson on the 5th Dec 1831 Rec No. 599. Sorry but that was all the information it gave. Had some trouble with Anthony and Elizabeth Oats. Didn't come across any Michael Oats but found lots of bottle makers. This is what I did find. If you want me to check any of them let me know. Anthony head of family 49 glassbottle maker B/mouth 135 Anthony son 22 carpenter/shipwright B/mouth 135 Elizabeth dau 19 scholar B/mouth 135 Elizabeth 46 B/mouth folio 225 schedule 111 Elizabeth 6 B/mouth folio 67 schedule 140 I know for the two bottom Eliz that B/mouth is pob, I'm assuming it's the same for the others but it was from a different index note the different reference numbers. Tom, Unfortunately the baptisms for St. Nicholas only went up to about 1818! How annoying! I did find this marriage which I expect is related. Hope it is of some use to you. 25th Nov 1799 Gawen Atkinson and Elizabeth Shotton both of the parish of Gosforth witnesses Thomas Brown and John Thompson. Paula

Louise, The only Michael Logue I found was in the 1841 census was age 15 and a labourer in the Iron Works. He was with James Logue age 20 also a labourer in Iron works. Reference was H107 822 4 41 43 Unfortunately the microfiche for births were in quarters so to find a birth between 1835 and 1841 would have taken awhile. I will go back to the library again so if you want me to check out the reference in the 1841 census I can have a go. Paula

Robert jnr occupation it was the two o's that I'm not sure of it could have been cauper or couper but it was just so hard to read Hope this is of some use to you Paula

I wasn't able to help everyone I'm afraid. I will list the information below and then attach everyone's names to them. If you see yours before I attach your name let me know so I don't have to work out who wanted the information in the first place. Paula

Hi Paula - I realise I have missed the boat this time, but if you go to Newcastle ibrary again, would it be possible to trace the death of William Bushell (he also called himself Robert although he was bapt William). He was born Jarrow and died at Wark Crescent, arrow in the 1940's. He was supposedly a 'dying man' in 1940 but I have not found his death from then until 1943 and wondered if you would have any more success. His wife was Sarah Bushell and they are apparently buried together in Jarrow Municipal Cemetery. I cannot get up there myself to check as I live 200 miles away. Many thanks.

I'm off to Newcastle now. I will do what I can to find out this information and a few other bits. I'm not sure I'll get through it all but I can always go back another time. Paula

Hi Paula, If you have time could you find where I should apply to, to find the burial site of Ernest Richards who died on 26/03/49 age 51 in Newcastle upon Tyne ? He lived in Park road, if that is any help. I am at the start in family history. Thank you, John Fitzpatrick.

Paula I know how the time flies when you look for things but if they have the parish records for All Saint's, Newcastle could you please look up the marriage of Anthony Oates on 5 December 1832. I really need to know his wifes name but any details on the record would be very much appreciated. Many thanks Andrea

Hi Paula, If you have time I would really appreciate it if you could check for the birth of Michael Logue c. 1835 - 1841 in Newcastle. In fact, if you could find any Logues in Newcastle at this time it might help. I have found my Michaelon the 1861, 1871 and 1881 censuses and on each he claims to have been born in this time frame and in Newscastle but I have so far been unable to trace his birth record. I have even checked the BMD indexes at the FRC to no avail. Therefore, if you could find a Michael who was born c. 1835 - 1841 in either the Library BMD records or 1841 census I would be your friend for ever!!! He is one of my most stubborn brick walls. Thanks so much for offering and good luck with your research. Louise

If anyone wants me to look anything up I'll be going to the City Library in the next few weeks. I'm fairly new to going to this library so I'm just learning what information they have and where it is so please be patient. Also please try and give as much information as you can. If you know a church or a street, let me know and to save me a little time see if you can find out where the church or street are. I can look up 1851 census details but the surname indexes are in books for each district so if you can have some idea of where in Newcastle, Northumberland or Durham it makes it much easier. I can look up any census if you have the actual reference. Birth, Deaths and Marriages from 1837 are easy enough to look up but each year is divided up into quarters so try to have it narrowed down as much as possible. Parish records are available but I'm not completely up with which churches are in each area so this can be a little tricky. Hope I can be of some use. Paula
