Shirley - I doubt if you will have the time for this, but just hoping... I am trying to track down some information about my g-g-g-grandparents, John HORNER and his second wife Elizabeth. I know that John married his first wife, Charlotte Sweatman, on the 29th September 1778 at St. Mary's Church in Leyton (John was a farmer and lived at Leytonstone / Low Leyton), but I haven't found his marriage to Elizabeth which must have taken place in the late 1780's or in 1790. Their first child, Maria, was christened 3 October 1790, and John and Charlotte's last child, Sarah Charlotte, was christened 31st May 1789, which would suggest that John and Elizabeth probably married in 1789 or 1790, but I suppose Sarah Charlotte could have been christened some time after her mother's death. So, if you have time, could you please look at the St. Mary's, Leyton, parish records, to see if you can find the marriage between John and Elizabeth in 1789 or 1790? And if you can't find it, could you please have a look at the marriage between John and Charlotte to see if it gives any clues about John's family (witnesses etc.)? Thanks very much, and good luck with your own research. Kate.

Hi Shirley If you have time would you mind looking for the marriage of William Davey born c1797. According to census info his wifes name was Ann and both were born in Stisted. Their first child was born about 1820 so hopefully they were married before that. Many Thanks Jo

Hi Shirley, Thank you very much for this generous offer of your time. If you have any spare moments, I would really appreciate any help. I am looking for the baptism of William Orris in Bradfield, Essex in about 1778 and / or his marriage there 1798-1802. Reference number is D/P173. The birthplace / year I have on good authority from the Census information. Any help would be very much appreciated, Jeff

Am anxious to establish date of my grandmother's burial at Little Braxted Church. Her name was Emily Louisa Jones (maiden name Hatherell). Her husband was David Jones. I believe that she was buried between 1906 and 1912.

Oh you would be an angel if you could find a burial for me! My 4 x gt grandfather Thomas LODGE was living in Margaret Roothing/Roding in 1841. His wife was a widow in 1851, living in Shellow Bowells. (he is not buried there as far as I can find out). I cannot find a GRO death entry that seems right. Someone tried before at the ERO to look for the burial registers for the Roothing/Roding churches and was told they are not there. Surely there must be Bishop's Transcripts there? If you could find this out - even if you don't have time to look for the actual burial - I would be so grateful. Thank you very much. Maz. XX

Thank you so much for this offer. Could you please have a look at the baptisms for Thorpe le Soken (there's only the one church) between 1793 and 1796 to see whether there is anything listed for Mary KEEBLE. I don't have any information on who her parents were so any you might find are potentials! Many thanks Lou

Shirley Bless you! Could you check the burials register for any infant surname SMOOTHY at St Mary, Chelmsford between 1805 and 1812? Many thanks. I don't know if burial registers list parents of dead infants, but the parents would be John and Elizabeth, either Chelmsford or Moulsham area. Many many thanks and I hope you find what you are looking for. I was very impressed with the Records Office and only wish I lived nearer! nell
