hi alter, don't think so although i have seen crook on maps of durham and was wondering that myself, i live in salford lancashire, but all my abbott family are from, darilngton, barnard castle, auckland, and walsingham also east layton, i plan to make a visit to durham to search grave yards and look up roads where they lived, and of course view the scenery. nice thought though alter, gwen. |

Yep,sorry, quite right, her indoors has just corrected me too-dont know why I had the a in my head. Walked to wolsingham-very hilly-theres agrave on the roadside ,as a memorial to a priest, who was hanged in 1600 or something, just for being a priest by the looks of it !! Went to durham for the first time last week-the cathedral is something else- reserve a good few hours for it- the best example Ive seen. Barnard castle is a canny little place. |

Had a trawl through Wolsingham 1841 and the only Milburns that I came across were,Jane 60,Elizabeth 40 and Phoebe 8. All living together, but being 1841,no relationships. No sign of Mary, but could well have married between 1828 and 1841? Regards Tony |
