Hi Tracey, having a lot of problems with these two! I am looking for the marriage of Francis charles Cassidy and Mary Ann Wrayc1890. They are the parents of my grandmother marey lily cassidy b. 1894 felling, gateshead. The used their surnames interchangeably i.e. when they moved to Scotland after 1894 they were known as cassidy wray. I sup[pose their surnames could also be the other way round i.e. francis wray and mary cassidy. Could you look for me please? you may have more luck than i have! Thanks, leanne

Yes, if they are twins. When you order birth certs of twins, they usually have the times on as well.

Sorry Linda, the only way you'll know is to buy the cert. I can only match partners after 1912 when they put the names on the register.

Isobel, I think this is Jane... Death Sep 1900 Robinson Jane 35 Sunderland 10a 354 There are 12 possible births for John in Sunderland between 1894 and 1896, so it is impossible for me to be able to tell you which one is him. It might be worth your while asking the GRO to do a search for the one with matching parents of William and Jane. They charge 11.50 for this, which is a lot cheaper than £7x12 lol

Sorry Gordon, the only place you get the names of parents is from the birth certs. If they were born after he died, there probably won't be a fathers name on them.

Hello Tracy, Here's one close to home that I hope you may be able to help me out with. Lady called Elizabeth Stangroom married Alfred Denney in Middlesbrough (1893-ish) and had one child (Harold) before Alfred died. She then went on to have 7 more children all of whom were given the surname Denney. I'm wondering (if it's Familyrelatives you are using) whether they name the father. If you could check up on a couple of the children (say Edna Barbara Denney b Jan-Mar 1902 and Francis W Denney b 1911) to see who was given as the father. Very best wishes from a gey wet dreich Boro, Gordon.
