Hi i'm 15 and have met dead ends on my tree, i was wondering if anyone could find me a Bmd for James edward sturgess, *poss edward james* he lived in leicester st marys in 1901 with wife sarah and children kate florence leah elizabeth and grace. If anyone could find the marriage or his parents that would be most appreciated

Where have you looked so far? How old is he on the 1901? What years were the children born. For people to help you have to give every bit of information you already have and tell them where you have already looked so that they dont go over old ground and possibly spend money looking up info.

Have looked on familyrelatives from 1888-1891 no sign of them marrying Leicester or Middlesex. Maybe the first two arent his? So I tried up to 1894 but still no marriage.

Well, how come I didnt see that second one on familyrellies - I got zero results. The first one I discarded cos no Sarah among the possible brides.

I think either me or familyrelatives is going mad, Ive just been back and entered the details in three times again and get zero results for that second one Brenda found on there????? Ive even entered the exact details Brenda gave and it still comes up zero. Im off to bed!

Dont doubt you Brenda, beginning to think Im going totally senile. I have honestly done it half a dozen times now and got zilch for results. Does make you wonder about the site, doesnt it. I used the map way first and after you put on the details I used the exact place, year quarter and still got 0 matches found! I think I will email them. I mean if there is a glitch, you could spend a fortune and still not find someone, couldnt you. Now this is interesting, I have just gone to familyrellies, looked at 'my account' as I was going to try to copy it and send it to them to show the searches Id done and that zilch had come up. BUT the searches arent there. I thought perhaps zero results dont show on the account, but there are some on my list which got zero results but are there. Does anyone know if that is correct please? It does seem that the site didnt actually search for them even though they gave me a zero result!!

Sorry my computer crashed last night. What you've all found is wonderfull. The problem i've been having is iv'e found for definate the children and their births pre 1901 but could find no record of the marriage or of the existance of either parents in 1888. Then when i entered the year i'd found on the 1901 census for james, no james' were born but i had a edward james. i think he was known by his middle name as opposed to his chrisitan name. They have been difficlut to trace.

You have to buy certificates to find out parents names.

Thankyou june that does look right it's the clsest i came to him. i wasn't sure because he marries under the name james as opposed to edward. Very odd. then again his decendants are quite odd lol.
