Find Ancestors

I am new to this and am at a loose end. How do i go about finding the maiden name of my great grandmother. My Great Grandfathers name was William Coward Born Kingston Dorset, his wifes name was Sarah ? born either Birmingham or Devon. They are on the 1901 cencus as living at 5 Tamworth Place, Pokesdown. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jayne

One of two way or prefebly both: Get their marriage certificate and/or child's birth certificate. Did they have any children in 1901 with them? How old were they and would they have been on the 191 census?

Which ones are they in 1901?? I can find a William Coward in Pokesdown, but he doesn't fit any other way!! Merry
