I have a marr ref Blackburn Lancashire Sept Qtr 1906 8e 973 for Isaac Aspin. Need to verify his spouse before ordering as none shown in lancs bmd or free bmd Thankyou...Susan

Presumably this is it, from FreeBMD, just to give the year! Have you got CHILDREN for/to this Isaac ???? if so, hopefully the birth certs will give Mothers MAIDEN name .... and thus you stand a better chance of finding the correct marriage. The indexes don't give marriage partners surnames until Sep 1911 I'm afraid. Elaine ;-)

Hi Elaine Isaacs daughter Elizabeth Ellen Aspin gives her age on her marr cert in 1932 as 23 so approx 1908 as birth year .so looks like her birth may be the way to go Susan

Have found a Hannah Hall Marriage Blackburn Sept 1906 Problem: 8e, 974 .bear with me .I'll do some extra digging.... I double checked the image for Isaac ... incase the Ref No had been mistranscribed. def 8e, 973 or possibly (8) .... but both the Ward marriages and Hall marriages came up zero. Sorry, I tried to help cut corners, but I have come to the conclusion that Elizabeth's BC is the only way forward now. Soz ..... Elaine ;-)

'Mother's maiden name' is as it says, the name she had at birth, but of course she could have been a widow when she married Isaac, in which case her surname when she married him would be the surname of her first husband. So there may not be an Aspin / Wild marriage listed at all. Kate.

Hi Elaine You found Edna Aspin birth 1915 with mother as Hall Sarah from Cheshire gives a possible fam relatives marriage match for Isaac as 1) Rachel Hannah Hall 2)Martha Zillah Woods Witness on marr cert is an Edna Aspin , would say there is now a strong possibility that Rachel Hannah Hall is a candidate Susan

Oooh blimey, I've just rechecked the images I downloaded for Hall marriages .... and yes, I MISSED Rachel Hannah. I am SO SORRY. I have to confess, I have been watching a film on TV, about sch bullying .... and my mind wasn't 100% on the job in hand. Sorry ..... but yes, I agree, looking like a possibility now ! Sorry ..... me again ! Edna is the only Aspin born after 1911 but B4 1921, with Mothers Maiden name Hall ... listed Fam Rels. I feel so guilty for not concentrating properly before. Elaine ;-) I've found Isaac on 1901 census, if thats any good to you ? George Aspin abt 1843 Blackburn, Lancashire, England Head Blackburn Lancashire Isaac Aspin abt 1886 Blackburn, Lancashire, England Son Blackburn Lancashire They also have 10 boarders/lodgers with them.
