Found a John Revans and wife Ann in Portsea in 1861 - address is 60 Challoir Street. He is 33. Might be connected? Jill

Do you have any of these people on other censuses, and do you have Thomas' occupation? If a sailor, he might well be away from home on census night.

Thank you all for your replies, sorry for the delay been at Portsmouth Records Office. Thomas Gold Wellesley Revans was a Gunner in the Royal Navy, serving on HMS Volcano in 1862. Rebekah and Thomas married in 1853, Portsea. Both age 23. In 1871 Rebekah Revans is a Widow - 8 Mt Pleasant, Portsea In 1881 Rebekah with Francis George, Fanny, Charles H, same address. I've just found the eldest son Thomas William Uvedale Revans baptised Feb 1856,Portsea, so he should be with Rebekah even if Thomas Snr is away at sea. Many thanks again Carley

As does 1861 with Rebecca Pinhorne + Francis & Henry as shipwrights 1851 again is on the ball with family in St Marys Rd + occupations matching Thank you once again Carley (with jetlag in Japan)
