Hi June The mother Mary Ann Sophia was working as cook in Alverstoke in 1881. She later remarried, in 1884 Lavinia was a servant in Prittlewell, Essex in 1891 William Edward married in 1902. I can't find the other two children after 1881. It's the father William Bamfords whereabouts in 1881 and 1901 I'm looking for. He seems to have moved about a lot. Paul

ErikaH Report 19 Dec 2005 21:15

The first marriage, I would imagine.........cert will have father's name and occupation, to help with locating William in earlier censuses. Name: BAMFORD, William Record Type: Marriages Quarter: December Year: 1867 District: Alverstoke County: Hampshire Volume: 2b Page: 916 Two ladies on page......... could be either Hunt, Mary Ann S MASON, Sarah Ann Reg

1861 and 1851 have William Bamford of the right age, but born Rochdale...........not too far away, but perhaps not near enough, either Reg
