Hi, I am looking for a Arthur Harris c1898 living in Salford, Lancs. According to my family he should be living with his mother Mary and siblings Florrie, Frederick and Ernest. I cannot find them anywhere. His father, Richard c1870 (South Bank, Middlesborough) left the family, but I cannot find him either. Also looking for a marriage of Fred Hargreaves and Bertha Brown? both living in Salford, 1st child was born in 1894 Any help would be appreciated Phil |

Births Dec 1893 Hargreaves Bertha Salford 8d 180 Hargreaves Fred Salford Can I ask where you got their parents names from? As I have search everywhere and cannot find a marriage? Do you have one of the twins birth certificates or are you just going on family hearsay or censuses? (neither of which should be taken as fact) Suzanne |

Well going on Bertha's birth dates from censuses she could only have married between say the years 1886 - 1895 (if she either married very young or married after the birth of twins - which has been known). Its a puzzle. |

Births Dec 1890 Harris Mary Ann Barrow F. 8e 798 1891: Not too sure now? Harris, Richard abt 1863 Holebray, Wiltshire, England Head Barrow in Furness Lancashire Harris, Hannah abt 1869 Dudley, Staffordshire, England Wife Barrow in Furness Lancashire Harris, Mary A abt 1890 Barrow in Furness, Lancashire, England Daughter Barrow in Furness Lancashire It all depends on where you are getting your info from. Its going to be tricky just going on censuses as there are a lot of Harris's all over the the area, to be sure you need certs giving occupations and address etc - it all dpends on how accurate you want to be. |
