I am looking for Julia Prosser born 1867c in the Liverpool area. Julia married John Game and I have found her on census in 1901 in Bootle cim linacre Lancashire. John Game was much older than Julia in fact he was born 1839c. I would appreciate help in trying to find when they married, I wish to establish if John Game was a Batchelor or Widower when he married Julia. I know Julia & John had four children together and I have their birth details and names. Trying to find ancestry for John Game further back than 1901 & Julia Prosser prior to becoming Julia Game and appearing in 1901 census with John Game. Any Help will be very much appreciated Janice

Hi FC Thanks for that, the 1901 is what I have. Do not know if first marriage for John could be related, but it is a possibility. Going on the census 1901 and age of children I thought marriage would have taken place in between 1891 & 1901? Going on Julia's age I thought she may turn up at home with Parents on earlier census but have not found her or details of her marriage to John. Thanks for your help and I will still keep searching till I find the link. Janice

Hi Christine & June Thanks for your suggestions I will try and check them out. It is very difficult as all I have to go on is the 1901 census which I know is the right one. Also got the birth certificate for Herbert William who was my Uncle and this shows Julia as formally called Prosser. My Uncle's daughter now in her 70s is desperate to try and find some link with her fathers family. Thank you both very much Janice

If only I could locate the marriage for Julia Prosser to John Game then I could order it and try and find out where she came from and maybe who her parents were. Also try to find John Game prior to this marriage, perhaps formally married, I presume it would say if he was a widower. Thanks Janice

Hi Guys I have had lots of help and suggestions, and I really apreciate all the help. However, I am still stuck? Cannot find the Marriage for Julia Prosser to John Game and really need that to move back and trace history. One young lady gave me a marriage in 1901 in Bristol and was convinced it was correct, but I checked it on ancestry & 1837 and found her marrying someone entirely different? Julia was 34 years of age in 1901 census and had three children, so guessed she may have married around 1890 onwards but cannot find her? Cannot be sure of where she was born although the census gives a place for her birth cannot be sure it is accurate. Really struggling here, until I finf there marriage to each other and send for a copy I am stuck? I have put it on Trying to find board and still struggling. Any help PLEASE Janice
