Betty you need to ask your Canadian friend if her great grandmothers maiden name was Murray, if it is then this is the right marriage. Georgina.

Hi again Suzanne, Someone looked up the details for her and gave her a refernce number but as it was hard to see, they gave her two, what they though it read. But they gave her the marriage thats all, quarter and year. What would she need to do then to get the information. Remember she is in Canada. We usually send for the marriage certificate which has brides maiden name on it. Betty

Hi Suzanne No the woman was not married before. All she has is the married name and information on the marriage. She is trying to find out the brides maiden name to confirm this is her great grandmother sister. Betty

Hi Are you saying the bride had been married before and therefore would have a different maiden name other than that given on the marriage entry? If this is the case then she would have to buy the cert. If though she has only got the bride and grooms married names and she wants to know the maiden name of the bride then you can find it on any of the BMD sites. Suzanne

I have been contact by someone in Canada who has the details of a marriage in London in 1903. She has the name of the bride and groom, the year they were married and the quarter. Even what may be the reference details. She would like to know the maiden name of the bride to confirm this is her ggrandmothers sister. How can she do this, would she have to get the marriage certificate, if so how could she get this. Or is there any other way of finding out.?? Betty
