my james maclean henderson( i can not find a record of birth for him) i know he was born around hull, i ahve found a james henry henderson,1898 and his death date 1931,made him 32 the chap i am looking for died before 1949 i have record that on his son benjamin thomas henderson marriage cert says father dead. the name for the father reads maclean not henry!!!!!!! does anybody think it would be possible that he was adopted and the new parents removed the middle name henry and gave him there name maclean which would result in james maclean henderson!!!!!!!! if so how could i find record of that.... also on his sons birth cert it says fathers occ stoker royal navy, on his sons marriage cert it says fathers occ fireman ss guifport, isnt that an american ship,if he was british why would he serve on an american ship. last puzzle can not find a marriage to sons mother florence monday i have record on sons birth cert that her name was henderson, and on the second marriage her surname was henderson, looked for the marriage between 1916-1923 between the 2 sons births which was 1921 and 1922 born in halifax. please could somebody try and help me im very stuck |

SS Gulfport was a merchant cargo ship. Why shouldn't an englishman be part of the crew, even if the ship was american - perhaps he'd been paid off in the states and took berth on Gulfport to get back to the UK? |

Tracy - I'm trying to get tis clear in my head, so please bear with me. One son (birth cert held) benjamin thomas henderson, born 4th dec 1922 registered 1923,birthplace waterloo cottages, stainland, halifax, west yorks.father james maclean henderson----mother florence henderson nee monday fathers occ stoker royal navy, Other son born 1921. Have you the BC for this other son? Have you checked marriages for florence using variations of monday - such as munday, mundy Jools |
