Is West Ham where each of them was born? Reg

Tracey

Tracey Report 14 Mar 2006 22:54

they were both born there yes

Jeanette

Jeanette Report 14 Mar 2006 22:54

yes you might have to trawl the index as long as they stayed in same place it shouldn't be to difficult its alright after 1911 as maiden name of mother included on index and when ordering ask GRO to check parents names least you will only lose £3 for a wrong cert. Jeanette

If they didn't marry until 1896, there is no point checking the census, as they won't have had 15 children by 1901. You will just have to trawl through all the Saville births looking for ones in the right area (that's if they stayed in one place), but between 1901 (when you might find them on the census with some children) anf 1911 when mother's maiden name was added to the birth indexes, I don't know how you will be able to tell which Saville births are yours.
