And these might help - 1841 - two households of 'Stanards' listed in Wilby, and all under Rectory: William Stanard 50 Ag Lab Y Hanah 55 Y Naomi 15 Y ---------- Next door but one to Obediah & Abia: William Stanard 55 Farmer Y Rhoda 55 Y (Looks like someone wrote 58 for those two, then altered it) Sarah 80 Ind. Y John 15 Ag Lab 7 Female Servants Sarah Goddard, 14 & Phoebe (I think) Johnson, 15. ---------- Could be useful?! :) Gina.

Thanks ever so much Gina and Lesley. Much appreciated Yes it's a bit of a strange one! I had a quick Google and Aba was a black African name. My partner's Dad was quite dark so I thought I'd unearthed a family secret! LOL

Hi Jeanette - 1841, it 's listed as (& image looks like) Abia. Rectory, Wilby, Suffolk: Obediah Noble 50 Wheelwright Abia 45 Betsey 15 Alfred 15 Wheelwright William 13 Jane 10 All born in county. Wonder if it was a diminutive of anything - can't think what, though!! Gina.

I have this family on the 1851 Aba Noble (female) Head W 54 Farmer Wilby Alfred Son U 31 Wheelwright Wilby Jane Daur U 19 Farmer's daughter Wilby Dwelling: Wilby Would like to see them in 1841 please. Would also appreciate any thoughts on the name Aba Jeanette x
