well when you are looking for an ancestor you need to have an idea of the date they were born - year at least, and where they were born - i.e. date and location

I know it was a long shot really. What what do you mean by date and location info?

Hi i am not sure whether the Elizabeth J Wadge is my grandmother but i think she is. She was married to a Henry Wadge who was my great-great grandfather. I am tryint to go up the family tree. Someone also mentioned Walsh , since my Henry's daughter was married to a Walsh.

Thanks everyone for helping me last night but I have a gap of 20years on the census, been looking for Elizabeth's mother Elaizabeth J Wadge. Have her on 1861,71,81 & 1901 but not on 1891. CAn anyone help?

Whenabouts was Elizabeth born and what was her father's name/occupation? nell

Can't do anything on my Gale tree so thought I'd start on the Walsh side as do have some original certs & photos so a good start. Have managed to find my gg grandad Richard on 1891 & 1901 before which he was in Ireland so not on census. In 1901 he was married to my gg gran Elizabeth Mary Wadge. Elizabeth I believe lived either in Plymouth area or Cornwall but can't find matches anywhere close to her on 1881 or 1891. Could someone else have a peek for me please because so I know its not just me who can't find her! Clare
