Elaine, I just can't see them, I'll have another look in a bit. It doesn't help that they've moved around so much does it!! Margaret

Thanks for trying - they have certainly toured round the country !! They are really annoying me - I can´t even find a marriage for Alexander and Mary.

Maybe the best way forward is to see if you can get Annie's birth certificate so we can look for the grandparents in 1851 and then work forwards from that?

Elaine

Elaine Report 10 Apr 2006 12:24

Annie´s birth certificate is not going to help me - I know for sure the parents are Alexander Lea and Mary Jessop (surname unknown) I presume you mean get Mary´s birth certificate and find her parents and then work forward from that. The only problem is I don´t know Mary´s surname as I cannot find the marriage of Alexander and Mary.

Senior moment there - of course Annie´s birth certificate will show Mary´s maiden name. Yes that might be the way to go.

Thanks Julie for that. Have found what I think is Annie´s Annie Maude Lea Year of Registration: 1884 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun District: Nottingham County: Nottinghamshire Volume: 7b Page: 447 so a birth certificate for either would give me Mary´s maiden name.
