Find Ancestors

Can anyone help with a marriage look up. It's for Frederick Rossiter and Elizabeth Latcham. The marriage took place in Merthyr Tydfil in 1869 11a 459, have found Frederick but no sign of Elizabeth can anybody help.

Hi Jess, thanks for looking for me. The dates i have been given for this marriage range between 1865 and 1869, so im not sure i cannot find a marriage for this couple anywhere, so im going to have to go back to some family members and ask them to check their sources.

Do you have any hard evidence that they actually married? Birth certs of children, for example? Reg

The 1871 Wales census lists four Elizabeth Rossiters, none of whom is listed as a 'wife'. Reg

Yes Reg i have the birth certificate of their son my g grandfather Francis it states on there mother Elizabeth Rossiter formerly Latcham. Their first child Kate was born in 1865 in Llanwonno so i have tried looking befor that and after but no luck at all.

I found them on the 1881 census so i'll try checking after 1871 thank you Reg.

You didn't tell us that Elizabeth was born in England........... Reg i wasn't 100% sure of Elizabeth's birth place most of the Rossiter researchers have as being born in Llanwonno and i thought so to because of Kate being born there.

Sorry Reg my mistake not to mention that, i knew Frederick was born in Writhlington in 1841 but wasn't sure of Elizabeth.

Have you searched the full marriage records on Ancestry? Or are you relying just on freebmd transcriptions? Reg

I only have a guest account with Ancestry but have tried searching on the bmd part of it but no luck. So im not sure where else to check.
