I have the marriage cert of Benjamin Bradshaw (shoemaker) and Emma Hawkins on 11 March 1852 in St Mary Newington, Surrey. I don't have either of their ages. I also have the birth cert of their son James Bradshaw on 20 March 1857 also in St Mary Newington. Could some kind person please see if they can find them in the 1861 census. Any sign of either Benjamin or Emma on 1851 would also be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Ron

Margaret I have James (my gt grandfather) in 1881 census as a boarder with Elizabeth Kalthoeber 44 and Elizabeth Kalthoeber 24 whom he subsequently married (my gt Grandmother) at 68 Henshaw St Newington. Don't have them on 1891 but have them again on 1901 with Jane, James and Ada (my grandmother) at 18 Pages Walk, Guinness Trust Buildings Bermondsey. Any help with 1891 would be appreciated. Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed. Can I please ask for two things? 1. Address on 1851 census that Reggie found for Emma Hawkins above and whether the ?? after Hunton Bridge for William Hawkins could be Herts or Hertfordshire. 2. Address on 1871 census that Margaret and Nicky found for James Bradshaw with the Partridge family Thanks Ron

I've looked again at the information supplied yesterday and I have a doubt about the 1851Emma Hawkins that Reggie found for me. The marriage cert of Benjamin Bradshaw and Emma Hawkins in 1852 shows Emma's father as James not William. Do you think this might be a mistranscription (either in the census or on the marriage cert) or perhaps that Emma wasn't in Surrey for the 1851 census? Any help greatly appreciated Ron
