if the grooms fathers name matched your guys fathers name you have hit the spot - otherwise it might be the other guy,in which case it will confim that its the other guy, not your chap, so we can cross him off your possibles

Morris Short he married Frances Lillywhite on 9 June 1862 in Wiston, Sussex. She was born about 1840 in Ashington, Sussex. In 1881 the couple together with 6 children were living at Blonks Green, Shipley, where Morris was an agricultural labourer. I have info on all the possible matches, but i just cant confirm what one is mine. Like you guys said, the best way will be the marriage cert, but if that one is no help, i dont have a clue. Thanks. Mark.

Frances Lillywhite gets married to a Maurice Short / Morris Short (somebody on the other thread got me that info, but still stuck) is it or is it not the right one. I think like you both have said the marriage cert is my best bet on sorting this one out., atleast it should have the Fathers name on it. Thanks for trying guys and i do thank you for your time. All the best. Mark.

Leah is the wife of samuel (Who apears to have died by 1851) Leah`s date of birth is correct. Walters is miss-transcribed. His DOB is 1832

It is around this time 1861 that they ar both started to be listed as birth years circa 1837...hence the confussion.

Yes, Number two is mine. It is in later ones that it gets a tad unclear (Well, to me anyway) One gets listed as married and the other is single and working as a servant etc. Thanks for this.

mark - you misunderstand - what is annoying is when someone posts a request, doesnt bother to look at the replies or pass any comment and just asks again a couple of days later. Re-visting a problem - like yours is different

Hi All, I have a thread on here to help me find out what 'maurice' is my relative. The Problem i have is that there is TWO born around the same time and in the same place, but in later census it is hard to work out what one is mine. I know that a lot of you have given me info and i do thank you all for that, but it seems that you guys are a tad fed-up with duplicate threads (Which i can understand), but i am really stuck as to working out what one is mine. The Maurice that is linked to me is.......Born West Chiltington Sussex 1836 (Parents are Samuel Short and Leah Short (nee wadey) maurice is one of 7 kids, my line comes from a younger brother Peter born 1837. Hope somebody can help me sort this one out and i am grateful to all the help that i have been given on this in the past threads. Thanks. Mark
