Find Ancestors

Hi I have just looked on the 1881 James and Ada that Georgina found on the 1871 are not mine. Which means that James from Tyldesley can be discounted. His wife was Sarah. So is Rosemary right??? if not where is Ada Louisa on the 1871. Jane

Jane the trouble is we dont know when or where James was born because we havn't found him with the family on any census. Georgina.

I know from Ada's marriage cert that James her father was dead by1893. But i suppose if he went off with another women then perhaps he wasn't. I havent been able to confirm an exact date of death for him yet. Jane

Rosemary I don't know what to think now. Please could someone see if they can find James on the 1861 census and then perhaps we will see if he had a sister called Mary. Thanks everyone for your help. Jane

Margaret Yes you have found the right family. I think Ada is with her father on the 1871 which Georgina found. So that answers my own question James is with Ada on the 1871. Silly me. Thanks for that information Gorgina and Margaret So it looks like Louisa Birch married James Hampson. Ada Louisa Hampson and Thomas Birch Hampson are James and Louisa's children. So where was James in 1871. I know James died before 1893 but i dont know when yet and i dont know when they married. I will do a check on FReeBMD Thanks for your help Jane

The family we have listed above in 1871 is the same family you have Ada with in 1881 isn't it?? Looking at the marriage Georgina has found, these must be yours I think. I wonder where Ada is in 1871 though? Margaret

Hi Georgina. Thanks for that look up. I'm not sure if they are mine. She had a brother Thomas B Hampson who was born in Manchester in 1869 and he is not with them. I know Thomas did not die as i have him on the 1901 census living in Hazel Grove Lancashire. Thanks for your help Jane

Please could someone look up Ada Louisa Hampson on the 1871 census. She was aged abt 2yrs. On the 1881 census she is living with her Grandparents Thomas and Louisa Birch. They were living at Birch Villas Lancashire. Her fathers name is James ?date of birth. I don't know who her mother was. I think she had a brother called Thomas born abt 1868.
