Helen I think that 1861 census that Suzanne found could be your family. When you look at the image the daughter Elizabeth is aged 2 her age has been mistranscribed so she fits with your 1871 census. Georgina.

What was his occupation in later years? As Suzanne's Jane is on her own in 1861 and 'my' find is visiting elsewhere - a possible link up?

Hi Georgina, A match on genes reunited stated he married someone called Jane (which agrees with Suzanna here), although I could find nothing to confirm this. But think this is correct. Thanks Helen
